Michael Galvis

Michael Galvis is a former LendingTree managing editor for personal loans and debt. He oversaw the publication of content for this vertical across all LendingTree-owned domains. His goal is to help readers make smart decisions about their money, whether they are seeking to refinance or consolidate debt or learn how to balance their monthly budget.

Michael first entered the personal finance realm in 2015 as the features editor for GOBankingRates, with a focus on surveys and studies. His content has appeared on Business Insider, Forbes and MSN, among other major online publications.

In 2017, he joined Student Loan Hero as a copy editor and later as a deputy editor. There, he focused on educating students and their parents on their options for funding a college and postgraduate education and on how to repay student debt as cheaply as possible. In late 2018, he joined the LendingTree family when Student Loan Hero was acquired. 

He received his master’s in creative writing at San Diego State University and a bachelor’s in creative writing at Pepperdine University. He previously worked as an editor for literary journals and freelance writer for lifestyle publications.
