Tragic experience

I'm a first time home buyer and got my mortgage with commerce mtg and my loan was sold to WF.
I wasn't properly notified due to some errors with my address and phone number so i kept making payments to commerce, ON TIME.
Then, i find out that my fico score went down so i do some investigation and find out my loan was sold. I reach out to commerce and ask for my money back so i can make payments to WF. Once received, i immediately make payments to WF. I have been making payments on time to WF for a year now. I have auto payments set up.
I still wanted to have my credit report fixed since it doesn't truly reflect my ability to repay debt and risk to lenders. Commerce was willing to help and get it removed from my record but WF refused to help me. I called multiple reps and chatted, evedyone understands but no one has done anything. They kedp asking me to mail something. I asked for call back and no one calls back.
I hope other so called 'valuable cusomers' aren't treated as such

Credit People Need to Learn that there is income beyond salary. Social Security and interest

Loan Officer = 5, Credit People = zero
If it hadn't been for my loan officer constantly beating back the incessant picayune demands of WellsFargo's credit people [I called them troglodytes], and calming me down, I would have bailed on this process several times. We went with WFB originally because we contracted for a house when we were only "looking", and didn't think we were ready to buy, and WFB was the only lender willing to start the loan process with such a short time to closing. We knew it was tight, and ended up not getting a purchase loan in time, but were able to keep all the same terms for a repurchase loan. However, I am semi-retired, so most of my income - for the past five years - has been from investments rather than salary, Social Security, interest, etc. WellsFargo's credit people focused totally on MONTHLY repeatable income rather than annual, even though my liquid assets are significantly more than the house purchase price, and my annual investment income is a multiple of my "monthly" predictable income.

What a horrible lender. Why did you sell my info to these clowns?

I thought that after all their crimes and dishonesty, Wells Fargo was no longer making loans. Apparently I was wrong. They contacted me to provide rates that were by far the worst from any lenders I compared them with. They could not even promise to be able to meet a 40 day closing. In the end, I ended up going with a local mortgage broker.

After reading these bad reviews, I’m terrified to deal with Wells Fargo

Thankful for all the reviews warning people of the bad experiences all these folks have had , when buying a home should be a pleasant, exciting experience. I’ll steer clear for sure.

Horrible, Ugly, Incompetent, Arrogant

I had a VERY painful experience with my weeks with Wells Fargo Mortgage.
They waste your time, I was asked for repetitious documents that went on for months and then no action.
DO NOT APPLY

Excellent communication, good online tool.

Working with Wells Fargo was a pleasure throughout this mortgage application through closing. We had a long delay because of the Covid shutdown; we worked with three people on the team who were available and communicated very well. No surprises, good service.

No to Veterans

One day before closing, after weeks of doing everything they wanted me to do including paying 500 for an appraisal and pest inspection. They told me the underwriter declined due to me missing payments over a year ago. I am a disabled veteran and missing my right leg. I am going strong working again.
I am renting the property I am trying to by and my lease is up tomorrow the date I was suppose to close. With three kids and a wife it's going to be a struggle finding a new place to live.
IMO if you are a fellow Veteran do not use Wells Fargo for refinancing or home purchases. If you have any questions about my experience reach out to me via email [email protected]… or Facebook Ken Presson
