How LendingTree Rates Credit Cards?
Our experts rate credit cards based on several factors including card benefits, bonus offers and independent research. Credit card issuers do not influence or have a say in our card ratings. Read our credit card methodology here.If you’re looking for a credit card with an interest-free period on purchases and balance transfers, as well as a Either $10 or 3% of the amount of each balance transfer, whichever is greater balance transfer fee, and if you qualify for membership in Wings Financial Credit Union, the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card is worth considering. Plus, the regular APR of 13.40% to 18.00% variable APR is relatively low.
However, if you need a longer 0% intro APR or don’t meet eligibility requirements to join Wings Financial Credit Union, there are other credit cards you might want to consider. We’ll help you evaluate your options.

Intro APRs on purchases and balance transfers
The Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card offers an intro APR of N/A; after this time, a 13.40% to 18.00% variable APR APR applies. There’s also an intro APR of N/A, after which a 13.40% to 18.00% (variable) APR applies.
Low interest rate after the intro periods end
This card’s regular purchase APR is 13.40% to 18.00% variable APR. In a world where many credit cards have APRs near or exceeding 20%, that’s quite reasonable, especially if you qualify for the low-end of the APR range.
No balance transfer fee
Many credit cards charge a balance transfer fee in the range of 3% to 5% of the amount transferred. This can add up — for example, transferring $5,000 to a card with a 3% balance transfer fee would cost you $150. With a 5% fee, it would cost $250. Cards with no balance transfer fee are rare, which is why the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card stands out with a balance transfer fee of $0.
No annual fee
When you’re trying to get out of debt with a 0% intro APR, the last thing you want to deal with is a credit card that charges an annual fee. Luckily, the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card charges $0 a year.
No foreign transaction fee
Take the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card abroad with you and have peace of mind, thanks to this card’s $0 foreign transaction fee.
Other cards may have longer intro APRs
While a year of no interest on purchases and balance transfers is a solid introductory APR deal, it’s possible to find credit cards with 0% intro APRs of 18 months — or even 21 months.
You must join a credit union for this card
The Wings Financial Credit Union serves consumers with ties to the aviation industry. The credit union details its membership requirements as follows:
“If you or an immediate family member are employees of airlines, government agencies working with the aviation industry or work at an airport directly with air freight, air courier or air transportation — you qualify.”
In addition, if an immediate family member is already a member of the credit union or is a Wings Financial Foundation member, you can join the credit union through them.
Finally, you can also qualify if you live or work in any of the following areas:
If you don’t meet any of the criteria above, Wings Financial Credit Union membership — and thus the opportunity to get the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card — will be out of your reach.
There's no cash back or points program
Some credit cards have 0% intro APR deals and a cash back or points program that gives consumers a reason to use the card after paying down the initial debt. However, the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card doesn’t offer any rewards.
The Wells Fargo Reflect® Card offers intro APR periods almost twice as long as what the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card has — plus, you don’t have to meet credit union eligibility requirements.
On purchases, a Wells Fargo Reflect® Card cardholder can get a 0% intro APR for 21 months from account opening — after, a 17.74%, 24.24%, or 29.49% Variable APR applies.
There’s also a 0% intro APR for 21 months from account opening on qualifying balance transfers; after, a 17.74%, 24.24%, or 29.49% Variable APR applies. Unlike the Wings Visa Platinum Credit Card, however, the Wells Fargo Reflect® Card has a balance transfer fee: 5%, min: $5.
You’ll pay a $0 annual fee to carry the card, but beware the 3% foreign transaction fee.
Something to be aware of before applying for the Wells Fargo Reflect® Card is that you might not be eligible for the intro APRs if you’ve opened any other Wells Fargo credit card in the past 15 months. And if you’ve opened one in the past six months, you might be declined for the Wells Fargo Reflect® Card entirely.
