That said, you can find cards that offer better cash back rates in bonus categories, those cards typically only offer 1% back on general purchases.

If you want a simple approach to earning rewards, you’ll be happy to know that this card doesn’t have rotating categories or spending caps to keep track of. Instead, you’ll earn 1.5% Cash Back on every purchase, every day; 5% Cash Back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel (terms apply).
Cash back rewards never expire and can be used to cover a recent purchase or redeemed a variety of ways, including for statement credits and gift cards.

Easy-to-earn sign-up bonus
With the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card, you’ll earn a earn a one-time $200 cash bonus after you spend $500 on purchases within 3 months from account opening. According to a LendingTree study, the average credit card sign-up bonus in 2022 was $157 — making this a competitive bonus for a $0-annual-fee card.
Plus, the card only requires you to spend approximately $167 per month for three months to earn the sign-up bonus.
Intro APR on purchases and balance transfers
If you need to finance a large purchase, the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card offers an interest-free period on purchases for more than a year. You’ll get an APR of 0% intro on purchases for 15 months. Following that, a 19.74% - 29.74% (variable) applies.
And if you want to consolidate credit card debt, you can take advantage of the APR of 0% intro on balance transfers for 15 months (Balance transfer fee applies), then a 19.74% - 29.74% (variable).
Foreign transaction fee: None
You can take the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card card with you when you travel outside of the U.S., since you won’t be charged additional fees to use the card.
By comparison, many cards charge fees ranging from 3% to 5% of the amount of each transaction when you use it to make purchases abroad.
Low cash back rewards rate
Although this card offers an elevated rewards rate on every purchase, there are cards available that offer an even higher cash back rate on general purchases, like the Citi Double Cash® Card or the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card.
Balance transfer fee
If you transfer a balance to the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card, a balance transfer fee applies. While this fee is common, there are a few no-balance-transfer-fee credit cards available. However, you should know that those cards typically offer shorter interest-free periods than cards that charge balance transfer fees.
If you want a $0-annual-fee flat-rate card with an even longer interest-free period on balance transfers, the Citi Double Cash® Card may be a better choice. You’ll earn 2% on every purchase with unlimited 1% cash back when you buy, plus an additional 1% as you pay for those purchases. To earn cash back, pay at least the minimum due on time. Plus, a special travel offer, earn 5% total cash back on hotel, car rentals and attractions booked on the Citi Travel℠ portal through 12/31/25.
You’ll also get an intro APR of 0% intro apr for 18 months on balance transfers. After that, a 18.74% - 28.74% (variable) APR applies. Unfortunately, there is no intro APR for regular purchases, so this wouldn’t be a good card for financing a new purchase.
Rewards are earned as Citi ThankYou® points; they can be redeemed for cash back as statement credits, direct deposits, checks, travel, merchandise or gift cards, or transferred to select Citi hotel and airline partners.
If you prefer a card that offers a higher cash back rate in popular spending categories — but also don’t mind earning a lower rate on general purchases — the Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express may be a better fit.

There’s a $0 annual fee, and you can enjoy an intro APR of 0% on purchases for 15 months, then an 18.74%-29.74% variable APR. You’ll also get an intro APR of 0% on balance transfers for 15 months, followed by a 18.74%-29.74% variable APR.
And like the Citi Double Cash® Card, the Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express charges foreign transaction fees if you use it to make purchases outside the U.S.
